How We Research
Health and safety guides
Anything about food safety or pet health is based on published veterinary sources, such as the ASPCA Animal Poison Control Center, the Merck Veterinary Manual, the U.S. FDA Center for Veterinary Medicine, and International Cat Care. Each article lists its sources at the bottom so you can read them yourself.
Our guides are general information, not a diagnosis. When the right answer is "call your vet," we say so plainly.
Product recommendations
Our product picks are researched, not lab-tested. We compare manufacturer specifications, sizing and materials, recall history, return policies, and patterns across large numbers of owner reviews, then explain who each product is (and isn't) a good fit for. When we have personally used a product, we say so in the article. If we haven't, we don't pretend otherwise.
How we use AI
We use AI tools to help research and draft articles. Every article is checked against the sources it cites before it's published, and we don't publish health claims we can't back up with a reputable source.
Updates and corrections
Each article shows when it was last updated. We review popular articles regularly and fix errors as soon as we find them. Spot something wrong? Email hello@mypetexperts.com.
